Carl Hanssen's Article Is Published

Carl Hanssen, from Hanssen Consulting, LLC, Chris L.S. Coryn, from Western Michigan University, and Daniela C. Schroter, from Nexus Market Research, Inc. collaborated to present this overview, Adding a Time-Series Design Element to the Success Case Method to Improve Methodological Rigor: An Application for Nonprofit Program Evaluation. This article demonstrates how the Success Case Method, which Brinkerhoff developed to evaluate the impact of interventions on business goals, was modified for use in a social service context, which was aimed at reducing chronic homelessness and unemployment.

Paul Lamphear Joins the Hanssen Consulting Team
Paul joined the Hanssen Consulting team in January 2009. He has over 20 years of experience in Program Evaluation, Business Process Improvement, Impact Assessment, Net Project Value, and Strategic Alignment Analysis. Throughout his career he managed projects with budgets in excess of $15 million for both profit and nonprofit sectors supporting community, state, national, and international development organizations.
Paul has an MBA in Finance, a Master's of Science in Management, and expects to complete his Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Evaluation through Western Michigan University's, School of Engineering in 2009. He is a certified Project Management Professional and holds certifications in Industrial Engineering, Lean Six Sigma, and in Validation of Good Manufacturing Processes by the Food and Drug Administration.
In 2005, Paul combined his work experience and passion for volunteerism to work with the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief and Boston University's Exclusive Breastfeeding Study in Lusaka, Zambia. The project provided leadership and training for economic development programs supporting HIV-infected mothers

The latest results from the National Science Foundation's (NSF) Math and Science Partnership (MSP) program show not only improved proficiency among elementary and middle school students, but also a closing of the achievement gaps between both African-American and Hispanic students and white students in math.

Dr. Carl Hanssen and Dr. Cindy Walker, Evaluation Researcher from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee presented a general overview of the data collected and analyzed regarding the Milwaukee Mathematics Partnership's (MMP) impact on the Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS) to the Milwaukee Board of School Directors. Drs. Hanssen and Walker described how the professional development efforts of the MMP were examined at the schools and how the initiatives of the MMP are linked to improved mathematics achievement.June 30, 2007
